It's best for the Long Island pool owner to do tests/make some observations to determine what exactly you are losing per day. Do you notice the pool is no longer losing water when it reaches a certain level, or are losing more with the pump running or even with the pump off etc.? Some simple tests can help us identify the leak's origin.
We know which areas are prone to Leakage. We examine the entire liner for holes, check for leaks behind lights, stairs especially and the gaskets in the pool. We do offer assurance we will locate the source(s) of the Leak and fix it!
WE know which places to look because our diver has found thousands of Liner Leaks & then has been able to resolve/STOP them.
Aboveground Leak inspection and patching up to 10 holes usually a $325 minimum. Larger than 15x30 could be more.
Inground Pool inspection and patching up to 10 holes is a minimum of $375, with additional charges for multiple lights (can seal most light Leaks), more than 2 main drains, patching more than 10 holes etc.
Gunite and Fiberglass Pools - similar prone areas to Leakage can occur but more emphasis is placed at checking the structure for cracks and especially at skimmers, with no extra charge for minor crack sealing/epoxy repairs. Gunite Pools Leak Detections typically up to 20x40 for $425 with smaller Fiberglass can be checked for as little as $375.
Our Competitors on Long Island in many cases just prefer to repipe your pool. In almost all cases it makes sense to pressure test your pool at a minimum, and in most cases it makes sense to find the exact location of the Leak. Other companies don't typically want to spend the time (like we do), in searching for the pipe leak's exact location. We like to think we outrank the competition in many aspects.
THE REAL DIFFERENCE - we really want to try to save you money
If you just want to replace your plumbing line, the other Company's method might be fine, but a pressure test should probably be done first to verify the Leak in that line. However if you are interested in reducing costs, limiting area of the replacement or repair or keeping patio disturbance to a minimum, you might want to go with our method of precisely locating the buried Leak. We have some pretty special diagnostic tools to do the job. By weighing all the factors, you might ultimately decide to re-pipe that part of the pool.
Typically - to pressure test the average Pool with 2 skimmers & 2 return jets and find 1 pipe Leak (GUARANTEED) is $425 + tax - It typically takes 2-3 hours
In almost all cases if you suspect a pipe Leak, (after doing some tests), you should get a pipe pressure test.
After a pressure test you &/or we have a decision to make.
Do we look for the Leak (after we identify which line has the Leak)? or should you repipe (repiping not suggested in most cases(probably 75%++ of time at least - it makes no sense to re-pipe the plumbing line)
